Okay, so yesterday was the big "ice palace" day. It was soooo beautiful. The ladies walked in and were "oooing and awwwing" all over the place. "O, it's so wintery", said one. "It's like a winter wonderland", said another. "It's just gorgeous" said yet another. But when I heard the comment "It's an ice palace", I said "Yeah, baby. That's what I'm talkin' about!" She "got it"!
I was so upset with myself. Before I left the house, I had opened a brand new package of batteries and put them in my camera because I didn't want to take a chance on old ones running out before I had all the pics I wanted. I got there and snapped 4 pictures, and the camera went black and the screen flashed "change the batteries". Luckily there were several others there with their cameras, so between all of us, we have plenty of pics. My friend Esther emailed hers to me and the others are supposed to be doing likewise. But I will show you what I have.
Our Women's Ministries director, Helen, always does such an excellent job of bringing the devotion, but this was an exceptionally great lesson she gave us. Our theme for the year is Ladies In Faith Together...Seeking God's Best For Your Life. The lesson was on God's guidelines for a better life. Don't live in the past, but look ahead at what God has for your life. Look to God, not yourself, for direction. Look at life with its briefness in mind - know that we are dependent upon Him. Live your life in the way God wants you to live it, not how others are doing their lives. We have such a wonderful group of ladies, who truly love God and love and care for one another. I feel blessed and privileged to work side by side with these incredible women!
Okay, enough of me running on and on, here's the pics:
We ate chili, chicken tortilla soup, "foo-foo" salad, corn muffins, poppyseed muffins, and oatmeal muffins, plus Esther made cupcakes decorated with cute little snowflakes on top. We "warmed" ourselves by the candles and drank hot coffee. The ladies are excited to begin a new year of service to the Lord! :-)

I'm so glad everything turned out, and the ladies 'captured' what you were wanting to get across, not only in your gorgeous decorations but spiritually as well.
WONDERFUL!! I am so glad it was a success and it looks decorated to the nines! Gorgeous!
Have a great week.
