It's Finally Here!

It's finally here! My shed, that is. Hubby, along with the help of our brother-in-law and nephew, completed my shed yesterday. It needs some clean-up and outside decorating to turn it into the "B'z Place" that will house my tea sets, florals, and other party equipment. Until now, everything has been stored in the garage or piled in my office, making it difficult to organize anything, much less find it when I need it for an event. But now I'll be able to get everything properly organized and stored in my new little "cottage". I'm very excited. Here's what it looks like at this moment, but as soon as it is fixed up, I'll post more pics. :)

Hooray for B'z Place!

"Paris In Springtime" Tea

I know I've been away for a long time, and when I finally got around to posting about the past month, it just got too long for one post. So here's the catch-up.

This past Saturday, May 17th, was our Women's Ministries' trip to "Paris". Well, not exactly Paris, France, but more like Paris, Church Fellowship Hall style. It started out with these gorgeous invitations/tickets that Esther made. The envelopes, the outside of the card, and the inside with it's little ticket tucked in the left side.

The room decor:

The buffet and dessert tables:

Each guest received one of these suckers as a party favor:
The tables for four were dresses in pink tablecloths, with a black and white gingham topper. 2' tall bud vases held pink roses with black filler and Eiffel Towers on two sides. White lace-trimmed napkins were folded into Fleur-de-lis pattern and napkin rings were black bands with an Eiffel Tower at the top. Pink Eiffel Tower photo holders reserved tables for each group.
The event was a great success, except for the fact that the a/c in the room did not work, and we all were about to "die" from the heat. You take a room that's already been heated from the oven being on in the adjoining kitchen, 90 degree weather outside, an a/c that isn't working, and fill it full of women who are all busily chattering away, and you get a temperature reading of about 1,000 degrees farenheit! lol
O, and here's a few pics of the "chatterboxes" - :)

Hope you enjoyed our trip to Paris as much as our ladies. Au revoir!

I'm finally back! I looked at my last post and discovered it's been more than a month since I had been here. And I also discovered I missed my one-year blogiversary! How sad that I've been so neglectful. But now I'm here and I'll let you all in on what I've been up to for the last month.
On April 19th I attended a Balloon Decorating Business seminar, where we learned how to make all sorts of balloon decorations, including arches, plus learned about the business end of balloon decorating. I haven't used my new "skills" yet, but I'm very anxious to create some fun decorations for some upcoming events I'll be working on.
In one of my last posts I had shown you some of the decorations that I was working on for our Women's Fellowship "Spring Fling". That event took place on April 26th. Here's how it looked.

Here's a cake I made. We had a whole Bird's Nest theme going on, so I made the cake topper to go along with the other decos.
I forgot to take a picture of this before Ipainted it, but this is a little item I found at the thrift store for $1.50. It was ugly brown and rusty looking and I don't even know what it's supposed to be, but I painted it and glued some little flowers and ribbon on it, then made paper cones and filled them with pink and green candies. It turned out pretty cute, I think.
After the Spring Fling in the morning, we went to my nephew's wedding in the afternoon. The wedding took place on a yacht as it cruised the harbor in Newport Beach, Ca. Here's my handsome nephew, his lovely new bride, and their blended family:I thought it was really lovely that, during the ceremony, the family all participated in a Sand Ceremony. One by one, beginning with the youngest of the children, each member of the new family poured sand from an individual glass into one single glass in the center, signifying that they are now one "blended family". I did take lots of pictures, but since we were facing into the sun during the ceremony, my pics didn't turn out, but this is one they posed for afterward.
Okay, this post is getting really long, so I think I'll come back tomorrow and post about our Women's Fellowship's "trip" to Paris this past Saturday. TTFN, :)
