Just came back from the vet's office. Had to take my rabbit in. He needed his nails clipped, but he's been not feeling too well the past day or two, as well. So we loaded him up and went. We love our vet so much. He's been our family pet doctor for over 20 years now. He's treated our cats, our hampsters, and Bunno, the rabbit. So he examined Bunno and said that he may have a type of "colic" like babies get. He gave us medicine to give him every day for one week, and prescribed pineapple yogurt. He also said that Bunno has lost a lot of weight, almost three pounds since the last time he was in (about six months ago). That's not good. Doc also said that he (the rabbit) is at the end of his life expectancy, which is about seven years. We're not sure exactly how old he is because he was a stray that we adopted when he showed up in our yard after living on the streets. We've had him for five years, and we figure he was at least one year old when we adopted him.
Anyhow, doc says to give him the meds and the yogurt and call him in a week to see if we need to pursue further treatment. Say a prayer for him, 'cause we love the little guy so much. He's given us a lot of love and enjoyment over the last five years, and it will be very hard to say goodbye to him if that's what has to happen. Here's a pic of him in his Christmas "finery". Isn't he cute!

Poor Bunno. Hope he gets to feeling better real soon and the meds work.
Have a nice weekend otherwise, Brenda.
I never knew you had a bunny... how neat. I'm sorry to hear the little love is not feeling good. Breaks your heart doesn't it? Maybe the little stinker is just craving pineapple yogurt and is in cahoots with the vet...
So missy...do a post about your bunny ok? Post photos too :-) How do you house it? What do you feed it? Does it do tricks? Is it trained to a litter box? We tried to have a bunny one time-- lasted for about 24 hours. I think our bunny was possessed~
