Today I went shopping at Michael's. They're having a sale on "all things Brenda wants to buy" (lol). I got lots of goodies to use in decorating for our upcoming Women's Ministries meeting next week. The theme is Springtime and our colors are pink & green, and because of spring, we're doing a birdhouse/birdnest thing.
To make our napkin thingys (as Esther & I so fondly call them), I got this stuff.
I will use the little wooden house for a pattern to cut birdhouses out of the pink foam, then decorate the "roof" with the striped ribbon, and glue the little flowers around the bottom. I got the white party favor boxes at the Dollar Tree (12 @ $1 Buck), and will glue the little birdhouses to the fronts. Napkins and tableware will go inside.
Centerpieces for the tables will be my big glass jars with these little birdhouses (painted cute, of course), and birdnest, and (hopefully) a music scroll with the words "His Eye Is On The Sparrow" printed on it. I have more of the paper lanterns and will hang them from the ceiling.
I love these giant Gerbera daisies and I plan to use them in floral arrangements for the food table.
I also bought a package of two silver candy scoops that I used a 40% coupon on, but, sorry, I didn't take a picture of them. You'll just have to use your imagination. :)
The total of everything I bought today (Oh, yeah, I also bought some candy, but you know that didn't make it into a picture - in fact, it didn't even make it home! hee hee) was $35. Not bad for all I got. And that, my friends, is Brenda's Wise Buys for the week!

Hey I like that: Brenda's Wise Buys! You've got something there.
I've posted the questions you asked me a couple weeks ago.
Beautiful colors! I imagine it will all look wonderful when you get it all finished. You know, I once saw someone makeover those paper lanterns. They used tissue paper, I can't remember what glue they used though. (I am sure you could google it though if you were interested) Anywho, they cut huge flower shapes out of contrasting colors and added them to the lanterns. It looked amazing!
I hope your brother is doing well~
