Yesterday was the Homegoing service for our "Murr", who passed away last Sunday afternoon. The presence of the Lord was in our midst, as everyone rejoiced at knowing Murr had made her landing safely in heaven.
Her daughters, a couple of grandchildren, and several friends remembered special times with Murr. It was noted that she had written five songs and two books. During the service, one of the songs she had written was played from a tape she made of herself singing it. At the end of the song, she spoke about how the Lord had given her those songs, and that "in two days, I'll be 90 years old". It was so cute to hear her voice. She had made that tape two years ago, since in about 6 weeks, she would have been 92. In addition to the songs and books she wrote, she had helped start several different ministries over the years. So her legacy lives on, not only in her children and grandchildren, but in the lives that were and continue to be won for the Lord because of the example she was and seed she sowed.
It wasn't a sad service, although we grieve for ourselves, at our own loss - at the thought of her no longer being with us here on earth. But instead of a lot of tears, there was laughter and joy at all the remembrances of her life. We weren't there to mourn her, but to celebrate her life and her lifetime of dedicated service to God. We will all miss her greatly, but we look forward to seeing her again, when we get to other side. Her desire was summed up in the words of a song that was played yesterday, "Just be there".

I love the obedience of one person's life lived before the Lord. He says, "Well done!" Blessings, friend.
That's so special knowing that it was a celebration service. What a legacy to leave behind!
