For this week's tablescape, I decided to show the setting from my blog header. This was a tea party last year on the first day of spring. It was an online party, hosted by Risa, The ParTea Planner.
This china is called Royal Albert American Beauty Rose. It was a Christmas gift to me from my hubby a couple of years ago. I don't know the pattern name for the vintage silverware - I picked it up really cheap at a yard sale.
At each place setting is a little box/bag containing a teacup shaped cookie that I made, plus a tea strainer, and a couple of little packages of loose-leaf tea. These were the party favors for my guests to take home. The little teapots sticking out of each box/bag are the name cards.
For my centerpiece, I used a wreath of dark and light pink and white silk roses. In the center, I put a hurricane candle holder. I had little ceramic egg cups in pink and green that I put tea light candles in at each place setting. The tablecloth is a pale pink floor length cloth with a lime green organza overlay.
On the sideboard next to the table, is all the food.
I served cucumber, egg salad, and chicken salad sandwiches, and mini quiches. Apricot scones line an antique silver Bride's Basket. Paula Deen's brownies with raspberry mousse were yummy along side homemade mini coconut pies. And the mini cupcakes looked so pretty under glass.
A tall vase of pink tulips and a green ceramic water can filled with sweet peas completed the tea table.
Here's a quick glance at my friends and I at the table.
We all ate til we almost couldn't move, and by the time we drank so much tea, we were totally relaxed and ready for a nap. It was a really fun day with the girls.
