Not An Accident

Wow, the coolest thing just happened and I don't believe it was an "accident".  I was just cruising the web, looking at different blogs, when I came across this contest to win a new blog design.  Listed below the entry rules we comments from people who are entering the contest.  I was just browsing thru them and saw one that looked like something I might say, so I clicked on the persons blog and, wow!  In her profile, she wrote that she is married to a pastor.  Hmmn...I can relate to that.  Let's see what she has to say.  So I started reading her most recent post, and she was writing just the same exact things I feel a lot!  She was saying that sometimes it's hard to be in ministry.  For lots of reasons.   First of all, you have to "do" everything that needs to be done that others either can't or won't do - you can never just go to church and worship.  Also, in the unique position of Pastor's wife, you can't have close friendships with just "anyone", especially not people in your congregation.  Sometimes it gets really lonely, because unless you've been in that position before, you really can't understand how it feels.  Well, I think that God is the one who directed me to her blog, it was not an accident.  It encouraged me to read her blog, and I hope my comments to her will encourage her as well.  I will keep her in prayer, that God will send her a special someone to be her "flesh and blood" friend.  I know He's done it for me and so I know He can do it for Amy, too.

Maiden Voyage

This is my maiden voyage into the world of blogging.  I haven't a clue about what I'm doing  or why I'm even doing it.  I just think it's so cool to read other people's blogs, so I decided it would be fun to have my own.  But am I vain, or what, to think other people would actually be interested in my mundane little thoughts or opinions.
Last week I went to a funeral and the minister remarked how the wife of the
deceased had journaled every single day for 69 years of marriage.  I admired 
that and thought, "Hmm...maybe I should startthat", and the blog idea seemed 
a good one to me.   So here I am.  Now, what to write about?
Whenever I write emails to my friends it seems as though I write short novels.  I rattle on and on about the dumbest things.  Now I have a forum to say whatever I want for as long as I want, and I can't think of a thing to say.  So far, only 2 people even know I have a blog, and they already know all about me, and seem to like me anyhow, so I really have nothing to say at this time.  
But check back from time to time, blogger fans, because I'm sure I will figure out something to say eventually!
