Happy Birthday, C-Girl!

Isn't she lovely, isn't she wonderful! Isn't she pretty, truly the angel's best!
Today is my "baby's" 17th birthday. Hubs has always called her his little "Angel Face", and, I think anyhow, that she truly does have an angel face! Ever since she was 4 yrs. old, she has been "25" in her mind, and she still thinks she's bigger and older than what she is. I am very proud of her. She is smart, beautiful, and very determined to finish what she starts. And my prayer is that she will find joy and happiness and success in life! Happy Birthday, C-Girl! We love you!

Good Stuff

Today some good stuff came in the mail for me. For Christmas, hubby had given me a gift certificate to Paper Wishes, my fave online scrapbook store. I hadn't spent it yet because I couldn't make up my mind what I wanted from all the wonderful goodies they offer. But I finally made a decision and placed the order and today it arrived in my mail. Here's what I got: Heritage Scrapbook papers with lots of embellishments, Finished-In-A-Flash Kitchen Kit scrapbook papers, Big Brads in greens, and the Swirls clear acrylic stamps.
Later this afternoon I went to Joann's 'cause I had a 40% coupon burning a whole in my pocket. They had all their Easter stuff on sale @ 70% off, so I got 2 of these. They are so pretty in person, but I will be changing the purple to pink and use them for decorations for our upcoming Women's Fellowship for April. That color scheme is going to be pink and green (my fave's). I also got some pink and green sweet pea bushes for a buck each. O, and some white tulips, too. Got some pink & green scrapbook paper to make "napkin thingys" and will use green napkins with pink tableware in them. When I get one done, I'll post a pic of it.
I got some really pretty glittery eggs at the 99 Cent Store this morning, too. They are pink and green and I got them 2 for a buck! I just love getting things on sale, even at the 99 Cent Store. Tomorrow I'll have to hit Dollar Tree and see what goodies I can find there.
If I ever hope to get all this stuff made that I have planned, I'd better get off the computer and get to work. TTFN :)

Fixed! I Hope

Okay, I still have no idea what happened or how "it" happened, but somehow I seemed to have fixed the problem of my blog being messed up. I think I'll just blame it on the Hubs, since he's the one who changed stuff to begin with. He's very good with the computer and internet-related things, but he knows nothing about blogger (not that I'm any kind of expert on it myself). I can't put too much "blame" on him, though, because I promised a few weeks back that I would no longer make fun of him because he thinks he's a huge expert on all things computer related. I posted about it, I think. But when my computer crashed, he was able to retrieve all my pictures and other information that was all stored on my hard drive when the motherboard literally fried. I was a very happy camper then, and right now, I am again, since changing my email AGAIN seems to have fixed my blog.
Okay, enough whining for one day. Now I want to thank all you people who are new to my blog for visiting me and leaving comments and I hope you will continue to come by. I love to meet new people and it still amazes me that anyone is actually interested in my own mundane little life. I'm thankful for the friends I've made thru blogging. I love to read their blogs and read the comments they post to mine. And I know there are some of you who read my blog (you know who you are) that never post a comment. It's really not hard. Just click on the "comments" at the end of each post and type away! I've set things up so you don't have to have your own blog to post a comment on mine. So, ple-e-e-z-z-z, leave a comment! Okay, TTFN! :)

Help!

Okay, this thing is about to drive me even more crazy than I already am! I think my whole blogger identity has been totally screwed up. We are in the middle of changing ISPs and so I changed my email addy to a gmail account. They are thru Google. So is Blogger. After I changed my email, I tried to go to my blog and it made me change my whole identity to match my new email. Now no one can access my profile or my page (apparantly) and no one knows who I am. When I try to log into my blog from the new email and password, which is what comes up under my log-in, it sends me to a page that wants me to create a new blog. If I try to log in under the old name and password, it tells me I can't because my blog is under a different name now. I somehow made it thru the log-in process under the old name, only I don't have a clue how I finally got here. This whole thing probably makes no sense to anyone reading it, that is, if anyone will be reading it because who knows if anyone can find me anymore. I'm so confused. If anyone out there can help me solve this whole dilemma I will be so appreciative! I love my blog and don't want to lose it or have to start over from scratch. Please help - anyone, anywhere!

What's In A Name?

Got this little "test" from Jennifer's blog. For the most part, it's pretty much me.

What Brenda Means

You are full of energy. You are spirited and boisterous.

You are bold and daring. You are willing to do some pretty outrageous things.

Your high energy sometimes gets you in trouble. You can have a pretty bad temper at times.

You are wild, crazy, and a huge rebel. You're always up to something.

You have a ton of energy, and most people can't handle you. You're very intense.

You definitely are a handful, and you're likely to get in trouble. But your kind of trouble is a lot of fun.

You are friendly, charming, and warm. You get along with almost everyone.

You work hard not to rock the boat. Your easy going attitude brings people together.

At times, you can be a little flaky and irresponsible. But for the important things, you pull it together.

You are very intuitive and wise. You understand the world better than most people.

You also have a very active imagination. You often get carried away with your thoughts.

You are prone to a little paranoia and jealousy. You sometimes go overboard in interpreting signals.

You are balanced, orderly, and organized. You like your ducks in a row.

You are powerful and competent, especially in the workplace.

People can see you as stubborn and headstrong. You definitely have a dominant personality.

You are usually the best at everything ... you strive for perfection.

You are confident, authoritative, and aggressive.

You have the classic "Type A" personality.

Happy 28th Anniversary, Hon!

Twenty-eight years ago today, Hubs and I "took the plunge". We actually eloped to Las Vegas, on a whim, and got married. We've had our share of ups and downs, like any marriage, but we've managed to work them out with God's help, and here we are, 28 yrs. later!

We did this pic because when we got married, the photographer told us to put our heads together like this because "it may feel weird, but it looks really good in the picture". When we got the pics back, it looked as stupid as it felt, so we decided to 'recreate' the moment. ha!

Typing Re-test

Okay, so I'm bored. Instead of doing something constructive with my time, I go and take a dumb typing test again "just because". But look at my new score. I've improved and I'm only one point below Heather. And does anyone really give a flip? I'm sure they don't, 'cause I know I don't. HA! Annnddd...this is my third post in one day. I'm making up for lost time when I went for week without internet at all. OMG...it nearly KILLED me!

It's Nice To Be Back!

I hadn't been able to post for about a week or more, because we couldn't get online. Our ISP didn't want to acknowledge the problem was in their equipment, and so we were off-line for almost an entire week. Do you know how absolutely C-R-A-Z-E-D that made me? Those of you who know me personally knew it, huh! lol Anyhow, our ISP mysteriously "fixed" our problem when hubby told them we were cancelling them and going with another provider, so I'm B-A-C-K!!! Hooray!!
Cheryl over at Artsy-Fartsy had asked me in a comment what I had been making lately, so I decided to show a little of what I've been up to. Mostly I've been doing florals for a wedding and for our Women's Ministries meetings at church. I also found a pattern for and made these cute little bag/boxes for the last Women's Ministries meeting a week ago.

Here's some of the florals I did for my nephew's wedding back in February:

These are the florals I did for our February Women's Ministries Meeting, with Valentine's Day being the theme for the day.
Other than these events, I was sick for about two weeks, plus hosted a tea for two of my friends from high school (which I posted about already), plus prepared for yesterday's First Day of Spring virtual tea party, hosted by Risa at the ParTeaPlanner. Beginning next week several of us ladies in our Women's Ministries group will embark on the task of making chair covers for all the chairs in the fellowship hall at the church before our May Mother's Day "Paris In Springtime" tea event.
So that's about it for today and getting you all caught up on what's been happening over here at bzplace. O, and this week I started on online course for doing a catering business. I'm very excited about it and have completed the first 2 lessons so far with flying colors! And on the 19th of April, I'll be attending a one-day seminar on balloon decorating. That should be lots of fun, too. Okay, I think I'm all up to date now, so I'll say TTFN and all that jazz! Ya'll come back now, hear?!

P.S. I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but for some reason my pictures and my writing are not coordinating with one another, so you'll have to figure out which pics go with what I'm saying. Sorry!

Welcome Spring! A Tea Party

Today is the first day of Spring, and as you see on my sidebar, I joined in Risa's virtual First Day of Spring Tea Party! I love tea parties and will take any excuse to have one.
I decided to invite Esther and Becky, who are my decorating "buddies" from our Women's Ministries at church, plus Becky's mom, Eleanor, who always babysits Becky's daughter while Becky is busy at the church decorating for our Women's Ministries meetings. We had the party at my house and began the "festivities" at 11:30 a.m.
I served sandwiches & savories of cucumber/cream cheese sandwiches, cranberry chicken salad sandwiches, egg salad sandwiches, and mini quiche. Scones were apricot-nutmeg, served with lemon curd and devonshire cream. Sweets consisted of brownies with cherry mousse, banana nut tea bread, mini coconut cream pies, mini strawberry-flavored cupcakes, along with fresh strawberries and grapes.
For Sipping, we had Peach Black Tea and Mango Black Tea, and Eleanor prefers coffee over tea, so I also served coffee.
So, here's my pictures:

Here is the table and individual place settings. I got these cute little boxes at Joann's and embellished them with little wood teapots. Inside each little bag/box was a heart-shaped tea infuser, 2 packets of loose-leaf tea, and a teacup & teapot shaped cookie made by "moi". I also made little teapot-shaped name cards and attached to each bag/box.

Here we all are, left to right: Esther & Eleanor, Eleanor & Becky, all four of us.
