Everyday Stuff

So today I have nothing in particular to blog about, so I guess I will just write about the mundane things I've been doing this week.
Yesterday was the first day of school for my youngest - she's now a junior in High School. She was, I think, glad to get back to school, but in some ways, sad at the fact that her best friend is going to a different school this year. They've been together since Kindergarten, and went thru Girl Scouts together from Kindergarten thru eighth grade. So it's kind of a bummer that they won't get to spend their last two years in school together.
With school back in session, and hubs going to the church the last two days in a row, I've been able to get back into my regular routine. Yesterday and today I finally got caught up on all the laundry. Today I went grocery shopping, cleaned up the house, and went to the gas station, all chores I hate doing. Yesterday I made invitations for our September Ladies' Meeting. Our theme is "Back In The Swing of Things". My camera has no batteries, or I would take a picture of them to show you all, but I don't, so I won't. Oh well, them's the breaks, mamma! Anyhow they are just a slight variation of the bridal shower invites I made back in July.
Had to go to WalMart and buy another cat collar. George lost his today. I tell you, these cats are going thru collars like water. Prowler lost his first one, but I found it in the backyard, only to have him lose it again a couple of days later. So had to buy him a new one. Now today, it's George. I can't find ones small enough that also have the safety feature of quick release on them, so they are able to slide them over their heads, I guess.
This weekend will be a potluck supper after Sunday morning worship service. Then on Monday will be hubby's family reunion. It's held every year at my brother-in-law's home about 45 minutes drive from our house. My brother-in-law gets a HUGE (about 6 ft. long) BBQ grill and cooks every kind of meat you can think of, plus usually whatever fish he's caught during the summer. All the women make the side dishes, everyone brings their own specialty, and what a feast it is! Usually there's a giant water slide of some kind for the kids (and those who are kids at heart), the men congregate outside under the shade trees, and the women opt for the air conditioning inside. Family, food, and fun make for a great time every year.
Well, for not having much of anything to say, it looks like I've written quite a bit. So I guess I will close for now. This post makes one full month of blogging every single day. I thought I had done so in July, but just had more than one on the same day a couple of times, so I didn't really blog every day in July. But I have posted something every day this month, so I'm pretty proud of myself. Let's see if I can keep it up for September. Just fourteen more posts to make it to my 100th. Perhaps I'll have a give-away or something in celebration of that little milestone. We'll have to wait and see.
That's all for now. Til the next time, :D
